The second generation is the electron tube magnetostrictive type,which converts the electrical signal provided by the electron tube amplifier into mechanical energy through the magnetostrictive transducer to grind the diamond mold.
The disadvantage of this type of transducer is that the conversion efficiency of magnetostrictive transducer is too low,and external circulating cooling water is needed to cool it.The equipment failure rate is high,and there are few manufacturers using it at present.
The third generation is the transistor piezoelectric type,which converts the electrical signal provided by the transistor power supply into mechanical vibration through the piezoelectric ceramic transducer.Its advantage is that the piezoelectric ceramic has high conversion efficiency and does not need an external cooling system.
So far,this type of machine has been widely used,gradually replacing the old mechanical grinder and electron tube magnetostrictive grinder,becoming the mainstream of drawing die manufacturing equipment.
Its disadvantages include:large harmonic distortion of transistor circuit,transverse vibration of transducer,and low yield of diamond.When the output power is high,the transistor is easy to be damaged,so it can not be used to manufacture the super large aperture polycrystalline diamond drawing die.
The fourth generation is precision integrated ultrasonic EDM technology and equipment,which is developed by Beijing Electric Machining Research Institute.This kind of machine adopts high-power top-level sound integrated circuit,with micro precision EDM power supply,through the conversion of piezoelectric ceramic titanium alloy transducer,the diamond wire drawing die is processed by ultrasonic and EDM.
It is a high fidelity sound amplifier chip which provides ultrasonic signal.Its internal circuit is powerful,including automatic gain control circuit (AGC),temperature overheating protection circuit and load short circuit protection circuit.It has the advantages of small total harmonic distortion and low noise.Titanium alloy transducer has low impedance,high Q value,low internal loss,high mechanical strength,long service life,stable performance and higher conversion efficiency.
The combination of top-quality audio circuit and piezoelectric ceramic titanium alloy transducer produces very pure ultrasonic wave without clutter and transverse vibration.The diamond drawing die processed with this tool has good hole shape and high surface finish.When machining large aperture polycrystalline diamond mold,if combined with EDM,the machining efficiency will be doubled.
